As an organisation made up of multiple smaller companies, and that works across a large geographic area, they needed to implement technology that would create a unified platform and encourage collaboration. Over 18 months ago, they adopted Microsoft Office 365 and then, after overcoming restructuring and training issues, also began using Microsoft Teams, Power BI and PowerApps. The Northern Housing Consortium is a membership organisation that helps Local Authorities, ALMOs and Housing Associations across the North of England and beyond to achieve efficiencies and value for money with their procurement solutions. They adopted a Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM solution in 2016 to enhance their membership management. Since then, the solution has been regularly upgraded to better serve their members. It also provides a rich source of data they use to improve their services. Alongside their Dynamics CRM system, a member portal is currently in development that will give an overview and real-time access to all NHC membership benefits in one place. Head of IT & Development, James Fairless, will share their digital transformation journey so far; transforming their CRM from a fringe system to a vital, integrated part of the business.
