Our recruitment process.
For current vacancies, the first stage of the recruitment process is to send us your covering letter and CV. It is essential that you let us know which skills and experience are relevant to the job you are applying for, so time spent on your covering letter and CV is important.
Once we receive your CV and covering letter, they will be reviewed and evaluated. If we think you may be suitable we will contacted you regarding the next stage.
If there are no vacancies advertised which are relevant to your skills and experience or you would like us to consider you for employment in the future, please complete a Job Alert and we will contact you as soon as a suitable role becomes available.
Testing
We see competency testing as a valuable and accurate means of assessing skills and knowledge. The type of testing used will depend on the role you are applying for.
Testing will either be telephone-based or paper-based. The test questions will directly relate to the job role you are applying for, and will enable us to evaluate how you will perform in real working situations. Some roles, such as sales and consultancy, may require a presentation.
We may also ask you to complete a psychometric test. This form of testing is never used to decide whether a candidate is suitable, but rather to explore your application on a level that cannot be obtained through traditional interviews.
Testing will be carried out at different stages of the interview process and is dependent on the role you are applying for.
Interview process
This is usually a two-stage process. Your first interview will generally be with two people, and will involve discussion of aspects of your CV and covering letter in detail. The second interview will, again, be with two people, although at least one of them may be new to you.
We understand interviews can be stressful and we try to create a relaxed and informal atmosphere. When interviewing our aim is to make candidates feel at ease, allowing them to demonstrate their full potential at interview.
All interviews and paper-based tests will generally be held at our office in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Graduates may attend a graduate open day in addition to some of the above selection process.
